Staying Healthy During a Pandemic

Since the founding of our company over 18 years ago, there has never been a more direct threat to the community we are committed to and that we serve every day – those over 50.  The growing threat of Covid-19 (Corona virus) and the risk it poses, especially to seniors, has us obligated to do what we can to help you navigate this serious health challenge.

The Corona virus is serious, it’s spreading rapidly, and it’s targeting the community that I belong to and that Healthy Habits proudly serves – it’s targeting seniors.

There are some easy steps you can take to better protect yourself and your loved ones. These are our Top 7 Tips & Recommendations:

  • Employ Social Distancing– where possible, try to stay outside of the radius of the typical cough and/or sneeze which is about 6 feet.
  • Soap kills the virus– so wash your hands regularly with soap & water for 20 seconds.
  • Take Care. Don’t Share– Cough & Sneeze into your elbow. People around you appreciate it.
  • Fortify Your Defenses– Take steps now to build your Immunity so your body can fight back, should the need arise.
  • Quit smoking – The corona virus fatalities in China were mostly older males who smoked. Few Chinese women smoke, so women’s mortality rates were significantly lower. Smokers are at the highest risk of becoming sick from a respiratory virus, so avoid exposure to smoke.
  • Eat plenty of organic fruits and vegetables —Fruits and vegetables help arm your body with the minerals, vitamins and antioxidants it needs to fight oxidative stress – which includes contracting a sickness.
  • Supplement if you are unable to eat a proper diet — There is no excuse for not arming your body with the antioxidants, minerals and vitamins it needs to combat disease. When in doubt, we recommend that you supplement.
